Posted on September 12, 2009

Most people feel that to build a website you need to be some kind of whiz kid and this due to a lot of the terms used such as HTML , CSS, Flash, technical programming, well glad to inform you that this is not true at all. In most cases to build a basic website you’ll only going to have to learn some HTML code which is fairly straight forward to understand, the vital elements you’ll need is the willingness to learn, and take one step at a time.

The simplest way to explain what HTML is (which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language) it is a language that computers understand and is used mainly to build websites, now web browsers, such as Internet Explorer or Fire fox will change the HTML code into the language that we understand, to get a better understanding of this when you’ll surfing the net on any particular web page right click on the mouse and a drop box will appear look for the heading called “view page source” click on that and you will see the HTML code that forms that page.

HTML programme Language can be challenging for some people, and that being one of the main factors of people giving up on building their first website. There is a solution to this problem that it’s been made so easy there are many free website builders out there they are also know as HTML editor or a WYSIWYG(what you see is what you get) such as Pagebreeze, Coffee Cup, Seamonkey (html editor) and Bluevoda.

As for paid and more advanced website builders there is Microsoft FrontPage and for really advanced Dreamweaver (mainly for experienced Web designers). Now you will need Host you’ll new website and that another topic for another day.

If you are a total newbie and you’ll still not sure on what to do why not try one of the free Web 2.0 formats on offer (totally free) they are Blogger, Squidoo, Hub pages, Wet paint these are really easy to set up no experience needed, these are great as you don’t need hosting, its already provided, the best thing about these type of sites is you can monetize, for example most people place Google Adsense (Ads) on them, in order to do this you will need to sign up for Google Adsense account. Well I hope that this Information has been of help, there is no stopping you now, go for it!
